COMPETITOR INFORMATION SHEET
Southern California Super Comp headquarters: "DESERT
EXPRESS" trailer. If you have any questions during the race, please
feel free to come over and ask.
- ENTRY FEE: Entry fee for the 2000 season will be
$100. Of this $100; $80 per entry will make up the
daily race purse, and $20 will be retained to comprise the
year end bonus fund and cover operational expenses.
- QUALIFYING: All time trial session runs will count
towards qualifying positions for the first round elimination
ladder. Every effort will be made to provide two time trial
sessions. Super Comp racers will only make the designated
qualifying time runs that are assigned to all, unless the racer
has paid for another bracket race that is running the same day.
Any runs made out of session will not count towards qualifying.
- ELIMINATION LADDER: Qualified Super Comp fields will
use a modified ladder in which the top half of the field is
matched against the lower half. (1 VS 17, 2 VS 18, 3 VS 19 etc. in
32 car fields). All drivers qualifying on or above the Index will
be place on the qualifying grid ahead of those that qualify under
the index
- STARTING LINE: Starting system will be the "Pro
Start" Christmas Tree. All amber lights are activated
simultaneously with a four tenths delay to green. The practice
referred to as "deep staging" is not permitted. Both Pre Staged
and Staged lights must be on to constitute a legal start. The
"Blue Light" system monitors the tree when activated. In a dual
deep stage situation both competitors will be disqualified except
in the final round, in which case the finalists will be rerun.
When staging, both contestants must have their pre stage lights
activated before either may advance into the stage beams. Should
one driver blatantly violate the courtesy stage routine by
fully staging before the other driver is pre staged, the starter
will hold both cars and back the violating driver out of the
staging beams at which time both drivers will be motioned forward
together to stage and race.
- SO CAL SUPER COMP SECOND CHANCE First round losers can
enter the Second Chance Eliminator. After the first round is
complete, you can enter by coming by the "Desert Express" trailer
and paying the $10 entry. First Round 2nd chance pairings
will be determined from your first round losing time. Entries will
close 15 minutes after the final pair run in the first round.
- PERMA-COOL Challenge points for the shootout race will
be awarded based on your individual qualifying position. The Top 8
points earners will race in the special Shootout race for the
PERMA-COOL Challenge title. PERMA-COOL
decals are mandatory on both sides of the race car to qualify for
Perma-Cool Challenge points
